My mom said that they used to use it with kids with special needs too (back in the old days when I was little). Just wondering if anyone's tried it. Has anyone tried that 3-day potty training method? It breaks things down into very small steps. I didn't read it until after potty training but it helped us learn to make the bed! Last night at Ruby Tuesday in Republic Riley actually asked to go potty before he went in his pullup. We put big buy underpants (I was informed they are not panties) on today and have done great so far. No. 2 is going nowhere, but we are gettins somewhere with NO. 1. YIPPY!! Most times, I get an accurate answer (yes or no). He only some times will tell me he needs to go. I think you just have to keep asking at times when you know they need to (like after meals). He liked the stickers that he got at first, but has lost interest in them. For tooth brushing, he's doing much better about it. For awhile, I had to brush my teeth whenever he did and even let him brush mine. That seemed to help. Now, we brush every time we are getting ready to leave the house and he doesn't mind (doesn't do a great job, just mainly chews on it, but no fight at least). They also brush teeth after meals at preschool (not at public school, however). Usually, I have to ask Vincent if he needs to go potty. Most times, I get an accurate answer (yes or no). He too will go every time you take him, but I'm tired of taking him. Ok, here is a new subject. How about brushing teeth? Any ideas? We have BIG struggles in this area. He can and will go when we take him but he hasn't gotten to that point where he will tell me that he needs to go. I'm not sure how to motivate him...any ideas. I’ve been struggling with Riley.
